Reading update

Since my last post I have been still be reading. I have several new books to my list. A few of them were really really good. The first one I read was Going Gray: What I Learned About Beauty, Sex, Work, Motherhood, Authenticity, and Everything Else That Really Matters. I am not going gray no where close, but I thought this was going to be a comical take on getting older...that I am doing and it wasn't. It was alright I guess. It was more about a lady who was going through the above but it was more of a serious take. If you are going gray, you may find it interesting.

The next book I read was: Dark Pursuit bu Bradilyn Collins. I great book I thought. A murder mystery. I found it attention grabbing right away and could not put it down. I would highly recommend it.

The last one I read was: The Shunning (The Heritage of Lancaster County #1). This book is part of a series. I only read book one of the series and I really really liked it. It is about a Amish woman who feels like she is trapped in an English body. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. I always find the Amish sort of interesting and this book gives you a true interpretation of things go down in Amish country.

All of the above books I read on my Kindle and were free dowlaods. WooHoo I love me some free stuff. I will post the links on my side bar for the books I read, but it is a beautiful day here today and I need to go let my boys run off some more energy. So until then...happy reading...

Woops

Once again, my blog which I want to keep up on my book challenge with has fell once again to the waste side. I can not apologize for being a mom. I love my boys!! So today I am going to post on my current book status.....
I have read the following books: (the links to the books will be in my sidebar)

Vanish by Tom Pawlik-Interesting book. It was not all what I thought in the end. The book as a whole was just ok.

Serial by Jack Kilborn and Blacke Crouch-This book was ok as well. I read it in January and to be honest I can not remember a lot about it so it did not leave that good of an impression.

Snowbound by Janice Kay Johnson-this book was a pretty quick read and it was a cute love story. All of us deserve to be loved and can find love, even when you are not looking for it.

Run for Your Life by James Patterson- I am a huge Jim fan as I like to call him. He did not let me down another great one by Jim. I really enjoy this story line with the police man.

Mossy Creek by Deborah Smith-I did not like this book. It had great reviews and there are multiple sequels. It just was not my cup of tee.

Irresistible Forces by Brenda Jackson- If you are looking for a steamy romance story this book is for you. WOW! is all I can stay. Let's just say that was one lucky girl ;)

The Hunters by Jason Pinter- Another just ok book. It was a little odd but it help my attention.

Hide in Plain Sight by Marta Perry-This book was pretty good. It was a quick read once again. It was a suspense/love story. I did enjoy it.

Gypsy Legacy:The Marquis by Denise Patrick- This book was set centuries ago and I really enjoyed the language and the courtship that was evolved back then. It was a cute love story.

Already Dead:a Novel by Charlie Houston- Not my favorite vampire book by far. I just wanted to hurry up and get over with it so I could see how it ended.

These are the books I have read so far. All of the books I have read were read on my handy dandy Kindle. I love my Kindle and all the books I read were free Kindle downloads with the exception of the James Patterson book. While I did not enjoy all the books greatly I still liked readying different genres that I may not have read otherwise. Happy Reading!!

Halloween

It is that time of year again. My kids are asking dailty is it time to go trick or treating. I a, a lover of fall, but I do like Halloween. I like all the decorations, and the colors, but I wish it would be a little warmer. This year we are going to a friends house to go trick or treating and then we are supposed to habe a bon fire if the weather holds out. It sounds like a great time so I am hoping it all works. Do you celebrate Halloween? Do you dress up? What are you and your kids going to be?

Stay away

If any of you out there were planning on looking me up and stopping by my house, don't. My middle child that was sick over the weekend is now 100% better and I mean 100% better. How children can go from fever, sleeping, whining, and miserable to playing outside, running, eating everything in site, and being back to normal in 12 hours is beyond me. Since my middle one is over it now my youngest son has it. He was fine this morning, but took a nap at 10:00 or so which is odd, was ok until about 2:00 and then it was a drastic decline. At 2:00 he had a temp of 101.9 and by 3:15 it was 103.0 he has decided to stop fighting it and is now sleeping on the couch. Poor things. So unless you are looking to bring sickies into your home stay clear for now.

sick babies

Is there anything worse than your babies being sick? I think not. My middle one has a fever and he is the most pitiful child when he is sick. His voice gets really hoarse, he whines and cries, and he looks at you with those red rimmed eyes just pleading for you to do something. There is nothing I can do, I can cuddle, soothe, rub backs and hair all day long, but none of that fixes the problem. I slept with him all night because his fever was 103.3 and did I mention yet he is anti-medicine. I tried to put the Motrin in some Gatorade, but will barely drink anything so I really could not get alot in him. He had a very restless sleep and is now dozing in and out on the couch watching Spongebob. I am off to the store to buy more Gatorade and see what else I can get for him that may entice him to drink and eat a little bit.

3rd time is a charm

I really hope this is true. This will be my third "start up" of my blog. I really was getting into it and felt like I was really starting to understand how to do different things on here and then well....that is where stopped. So I am going to try this thing AGAIN! I wish I could say I am back and better but well for now I am just back and I hope after some time I will be better. My last post was 2/11/09 how odd that I am coming back on 9/11/09.

For my first entry I am going to keep short and sweet and ask all of you today take some time to reflect on the tragic events that happened 8 years ago. Keeping all of the families and people who were and still to this day are affected by those events. We will never forget you! Also, remember that we have so many brave men and women who are still fighting for our country in Iraq because of this. So while today I will remember those families who were effected on this day 8 years ago I will also remember that were a countless number of families who have been effected by the war that their loved ones have so diligently fought for. Thank you and God Bless America.
